Our Staff

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!!

Our staff make all the difference in the world to our boys. Whether it’s helping them to learn how to do basic hygiene, learning how to clean, assisting with their therapy, or playing games with them our staff see these boys each day from when they wake up to when they go to bed. While challenging at times, the job itself can be quite rewarding especially when you see the growth and development that these boys go through after an extended time of feeling safe and cared for like they do here.

We’ve included some of our staff, at various positions and roles, and asked them why they work for the Burke Center for Youth and what they get out of their job.

Jeff Reiter, Dorm Coordinator

“Moving here from Florida over two years ago, there were circumstances and people that connected me to the Burke Center, revealing to me that this is where God wanted me to be. It has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever been a part of. I’m grateful for the opportunity!”

Umar Jalloh, Dorm Supervisor

“I work here at the Burke Center to help make a positive impact in these boys lives. I work to also help these boys regain confidence in their self-esteem and let them know there are people like me that have faith and trust in them and will go the extra mile to help them have a brighter future.”

Tabitha Shoebroek, Staff

“I work at the Burke Center because my passion is working with kids. I plan to foster-to-adopt and feel that this job will give me good experiences and teachings for when that time comes. I feel fulfilled in my life when I am able to help others, especially kids.”
